Alternatively spliced transcript variant encoding distinct isoforms have been observed.Strong RARRES1 expression could be induced by RAR-specific but not RXR-specific agents. In situ hybridization analysis showed that treatment of psoriatic rafts or patient skin lesions with tazarotene induces RARRES1 expression.
