It also stimulates dendrite and dendritic spine development and regulates the continuing migration of neuroblasts generated in adult neurogenesis sites like subventricular and subgranular zones. It is found not only in the brain, but also in the spinal cord, blood, and other body orga.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch2\u003eAssay Principle\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate RELN in samples. An antibody specific for RELN has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyRELN present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for RELN is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of RELN bound in the initial step.
