There were at least 2 distinct bands detected (6.2 and 4.2 kb), indicating alternative splicing of TRPM4. In addition, a smaller but relatively abundant 2.4-kb transcript was detected in testis.The shorter protein results from alternative splicing, with the third and fourth exons being spliced out and the beginning of the first exon being truncated.
