The plate has been coated with murine MCP-1 monoclonal antibody. Any MCP-1 present in the sample or standard will be captured. A biotin-conjugated anti-murine MCP-1 antibody is added followed by streptavidin-horseradish peroxidase (HRP) and an accompanying substrate. The reaction exhibits a blue color in direct proportion to the amount of MCP-1 in the initial sample. The reaction is terminated by the addition of a stop solution, and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.
