Cytokine & Immunoassay ELISA Kits

Human-reactivity sandwich ELISA kits for cytokines and inflammation markers — every kit lists its detection range, sensitivity and validated sample matrix up front, so you can match the kit to your sample before you run the plate.

About Cytokine & Immunoassay ELISA Kits

Cytokines sit at pg/mL, they are labile, and they behave differently in serum, plasma and supernatant — so the same sample can give two different numbers. Every human-reactivity kit here states its detection range, lower limit of detection, validated sample matrix and assay format on its product page, so you can match the kit to your sample and your expected cytokine level before you run the plate. Use the filters to narrow by target, sensitivity and sample type.

Choosing a cytokine ELISA: standard vs high-sensitivity vs antibody-pair

Most cytokine irreproducibility is a handling, matrix and sensitivity problem, not a biology problem. These three formats trade sensitivity, hands-on effort and flexibility differently. Match the format to how low your cytokine sits and to the matrix you actually collected.

Decision dimension Standard sandwich ELISA High-sensitivity ELISA Antibody-pair / DIY set
Best when the target isInduced / stimulated cytokine at readily detectable levelsLow basal cytokine near the detection limit (e.g. resting-serum IL-6)Any level, when you want to build and tune your own plate
Typical sensitivity (LLOD)Low pg/mL (often < 1 pg/mL)Down to ~0.04–0.11 pg/mL (kit-dependent)Depends on the pair and coating you set up
Typical detection range~10–100 pg/mL (kit-dependent)Sub-pg/mL to low pg/mLUser-defined by standard curve
Validated matrixSerum, plasma (heparin / EDTA / citrate), cell-culture supernatantSerum, plasma, supernatant — matrix stated per kitSet by your own validation
Format & hands-on timePre-coated plate, sandwich, ~2–4 hPre-coated plate, sandwich, ~2–4 hCoat-your-own; longer setup, most flexible
Best forRoutine cytokine quantitation with a known signalDefending a small, real change in a low-abundance cytokineAssay development, custom throughput, cost at scale
Watch-outsMay not reach a basal cytokine near zeroConfirm the stated LLOD covers your lowest expected valueRequires in-house optimisation and QC

How to read this table. Pick on the stated number, not the general category. If your cytokine sits close to zero in resting samples — the classic IL-6 case — a kit that states a sub-pg/mL limit lets you call a real change a standard kit would miss. Circulating IL-6 carries a month-to-month CV of roughly 27–31% in healthy subjects, so only a change of about 60% (twice the variation) should be read as a true shift — run duplicates and keep a known control on every plate.
