Boster Bio Anti-Bid Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody catalog # M00730. Tested in WB, IHC, ICC/IF, IP, Flow Cytometry applications. This antibody reacts with Human.

    Key elements and design rationale

    • Target: BID — BH3-interacting domain death agonist
    • Antibody format: Host: Rabbit; Clonality: Monoclonal; Clone: Clone: AAGC-2; Isotype: Rabbit IgG
    • Species reactivity: Human
    • Molecular weight guidance: Observed: 90 kDa; Calculated: 21995 MW

    Biological background

Protein function (datasheet): The major proteolytic product p15 BID allows the release of cytochrome c (By similarity). Isoform 1, isoform 2 and isoform 4 induce ICE-like proteases and apoptosis. Isoform 3 does not induce apoptosis. Counters the protective effect of Bcl-2. .

Cellular localization (datasheet): Cytoplasm . Mitochondrion membrane . When uncleaved, it is predominantly cytoplasmic. .

Tissue details (datasheet): Isoform 2 and isoform 3 are expressed in spleen, bone marrow, cerebral and cerebellar cortex. Isoform 2 is expressed in spleen, pancreas and placenta (at protein level). Isoform 3 is expressed in lung, pancreas and spleen (at protein level). Isoform 4 is expressed in lung and pancreas (at protein level). .

    Research relevance and current trends

    • Commonly studied in contexts related to Apoptosis,Apoptotic Markers,Cancer,Cell Biology,Cell Death,Intracellular,Invasion/Microenvironment,Metabolism,Metabolism Processes,Pathways and Processes.
    • Supports comparative expression analysis across conditions, genotypes, or treatments when paired with appropriate controls.
    • Useful for confirming target presence and subcellular distribution using orthogonal readouts (e.g., microscopy vs. immunoblotting).

    Common research applications

    • Western blot (WB): Compare relative target abundance and apparent size/isoforms across samples; interpret bands in light of expected MW and potential PTMs.
    • Immunohistochemistry (IHC): Assess tissue distribution and cell-type patterns; interpret staining with appropriate negative controls and antigen context.
    • Immunofluorescence / ICC: Visualize subcellular localization and co-localization patterns; consider fixation/permeabilization compatibility and controls.
    • Flow cytometry: Quantify target-positive populations in single-cell suspensions; pair with viability and isotype/FMO controls conceptually.

    Notes for experimental interpretation

    • Consider isoforms, post-translational modifications, and processing that can shift apparent molecular weight or localization.
    • Use appropriate positive and negative controls (e.g., KO/KD, blocking peptide, or isotype controls) to support specificity interpretation.

As a monoclonal antibody, this reagent is expected to recognize a defined epitope, which can support consistency across lots when epitope accessibility is preserved.

Does anti-Bid Rabbit Monoclonal antibody M00730 work for IP with blood?
According to the expression profile of blood, BID is highly expressed in blood. So, it is likely that anti-Bid Rabbit Monoclonal antibody M00730 will work for IP with blood.
We bought anti-Bid Rabbit Monoclonal antibody for IF on brain skin in a previous project. I am using human, and We intend to use the antibody for IP next. I would like examining brain skin as well as liver in our next experiment. Could give a recommendation on which antibody would work the best for IP?
I looked at the website and datasheets of our anti-Bid Rabbit Monoclonal antibody and it seems that M00730 has been validated on human in both IF and IP. Thus M00730 should work for your application. Our Boster satisfaction guarantee will cover this product for IP in human even if the specific tissue type has not been validated. We do have a comprehensive range of products for IP detection and you can check out our website bosterbio.com to find out more information about them.
