Vendor description (summary): Boster Bio Anti-IDH2 Antibody Picoband® (monoclonal, 6B13) catalog # M00510-4.
Biological background
Biological context: May act as a receptor in regulating T-cell proliferation.
Expression and localization notes: cellular localization: Cell membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein, tissue context: Brain, liver, placenta, lymphocytes and erythrocytes..
Common research applications
- Western blotting (WB): Compare IDH2 levels across samples and conditions using appropriate loading and biological controls.
- Immunohistochemistry (IHC): Evaluate spatial distribution of IDH2 in tissue sections, considering fixation and antigen retrieval effects.
- Immunofluorescence / ICC: Assess subcellular localization patterns and co-localization with compartment markers in cultured cells.
- Flow cytometry: Quantify IDH2-positive populations in single-cell suspensions with appropriate gating and controls.
- ELISA: Use antibody-based detection formats to assess antigen presence or binding in plate-based assays.
Notes for experimental interpretation
- Account for isoforms, post-translational modifications, and sample-specific processing that can shift apparent molecular weight or epitope accessibility.
- Use positive/negative biological controls where possible (e.g., known-expressing cells/tissues, knockdown/knockout models) and include appropriate secondary-only/isotype controls for imaging workflows.
Additional product notes (from provided fields)
- Background: Isocitrate dehydrogenase [NADP], mitochondrialis anenzymethat in humans is encoded by theIDH2gene. Isocitrate dehydrogenases catalyze the oxidative decarboxylation of isocitrate to 2-oxoglutarate. These enzymes belong to two distinct subclasses, one of which utilizes NAD (+) as the electron acceptor and the other NADP (+). Five isocitrate dehydrogenases have been reported: three NAD (+)-dependent isocitrate dehydrogenases, which localize to the mitochondrial matrix, and two NADP (+)-dependent isocitrate dehydrogenases, one of which is mitochondrial and the other predominantly cytosolic. Each NADP (+)-dependent isozyme is a homodimer. The protein encoded by this gene is the NADP (+)-dependent isocitrate dehydrogenase found in the mitochondria. It plays a role in intermediary metabolism and energy production. This protein may tightly associate or interact with the pyruvate dehydrogenase complex. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
- Cross reactivity: No cross-reactivity with other proteins.
- Cellular localization: Cell membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein
- Tissue details: Brain, liver, placenta, lymphocytes and erythrocytes.
- Research category: Cell Adhesion,Cell Type Markers,Cytoskeleton/ECM,Hematopoietic Progenitors,Immunology,Integrins,Myeloid,Signal Transduction,Stem Cells
