Trolox is a water-soluble analog of vitamin E (α-tocopherol) with potent antioxidant properties. In neurodegenerative disease research, Trolox is widely used to study oxidative stress, a key contributor to neuronal damage in conditions such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and Huntington’s disease. Trolox scavenges reactive oxygen species (ROS) and protects against lipid peroxidation, mitochondrial dysfunction, and DNA damage.
