    Biological background

Protein function (datasheet): Molecular chaperone that promotes the maturation, structural maintenance and proper regulation of specific target proteins involved for instance in cell cycle control and signal transduction. Undergoes a functional cycle that is linked to its ATPase activity. This cycle probably induces conformational changes in the client proteins, thereby causing their activation. Interacts dynamically with various co-chaperones that modulate its substrate recognition, ATPase cycle and chaperone function. Binds bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS) et mediates LPS-induced inflammatory response, including TNF secretion by monocytes. .

    Cellular localization (datasheet): Cytoplasm .

Tissue details (datasheet): Isoform 1 and isoform 2 were identified in platelets and megakaryocytes, but not in reticulocytes or in Jurkat and U-937 white blood cell line. Isoform 3 is expressed by leukemia, prostate adenocarcinoma and melanoma cells but not by platelets or normal prostate or breast epithelial cells.

    Research relevance and current trends

    • Commonly studied in contexts related to Biochemicals,Chemical Type,Neurology Process,Neuroscience.
    • Supports comparative expression analysis across conditions, genotypes, or treatments when paired with appropriate controls.
    • Useful for confirming target presence and subcellular distribution using orthogonal readouts (e.g., microscopy vs. immunoblotting).

    Common research applications

    • Western blot (WB): Compare relative target abundance and apparent size/isoforms across samples; interpret bands in light of expected MW and potential PTMs.

    Notes for experimental interpretation

    • Consider isoforms, post-translational modifications, and processing that can shift apparent molecular weight or localization.
    • Use appropriate positive and negative controls (e.g., KO/KD, blocking peptide, or isotype controls) to support specificity interpretation.

As a monoclonal antibody, this reagent is expected to recognize a defined epitope, which can support consistency across lots when epitope accessibility is preserved.

Our team were happy with the WB result of your anti-ARG1/Arginase 1 Rabbit Monoclonal antibody. However we have seen positive staining in erythroblast cytoplasm. using this antibody. Is that expected? Could you tell me where is ARG1 supposed to be expressed?
From what I have seen in literature, erythroblast does express ARG1. Generally ARG1 expresses in cytoplasm. Regarding which tissues have ARG1 expression, here are a few articles citing expression in various tissues: Blood, Pubmed ID: 3174433 Erythroblast, Pubmed ID: 14574404 Liver, Pubmed ID: 2241902, 3540966, 24275569 Liver, and Skeletal muscle, Pubmed ID: 15489334
Is this M01106-1 anti-ARG1/Arginase 1 Rabbit Monoclonal antibody reactive to the isotypes of ARG1?
The immunogen of M01106-1 anti-ARG1/Arginase 1 Rabbit Monoclonal antibody is A synthesized peptide derived from human ARG1. Could you tell me which isotype you are interested in so I can help see if the immunogen is part of this isotype?
