Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets aurora kinase A (gene Aurka) in mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 44.8 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 48 kDa.
Aurora kinase A (AURKA) is a mitotic serine/threonine kinase that localizes to centrosomes and spindle microtubules. Working with activators such as TPX2, it drives centrosome maturation, mitotic entry and bipolar spindle assembly. AURKA is often overexpressed in tumors and is a well-studied target of small-molecule kinase inhibitors.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): rat testis tissue, mouse testis tissue, mouse thymus tissue, mouse HEPA1–6 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with mouse and rat. UniProt places aurora kinase A in the cytoplasm, cell projection and basolateral cell membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (mouse): Detected in embryonic neurons in dorsal root ganglia and brain cortex (at protein level). The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
