Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes contactin-associated protein-like 2 (gene CNTNAP2) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 148.2 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 170 kDa.
CASPR2 (CNTNAP2) is a neurexin-family transmembrane protein that, with contactin-2, clusters voltage-gated potassium channels at the juxtaparanodes of myelinated axons. It also plays roles in neuronal migration and synapse function, and it is widely studied in neurodevelopment and in genetic studies of autism spectrum disorders.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): rat brain tissue, mouse brain tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places contactin-associated protein-like 2 in the membrane and cell projection. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Predominantly expressed in nervous system. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
