Overview

This antibody is intended for detection of CD19 in biological samples using common immunoassay formats. It is typically selected based on target identity, species reactivity, clonality/clone information, and detection modality.

Vendor notes: Boster Bio Anti-CD19 Antibody Picoband® catalog # A00154-1. Tested in ELISA, WB applications. This antibody reacts with Human, Mouse. The brand Picoband indicates this is a premium antibody that guarantees superior quality, high affinity, and strong signals with minimal background in Western blot applications. Only our best-performing antibodies are designated as Picoband, ensuring unmatched performance.

Key elements and design rationale

  • Antibody format: Rabbit Polyclonal Rabbit IgG
  • Immunogen / epitope context: E. coli-derived human CD19 recombinant protein (Position: P20-Y259). (reported region: P20-Y259).
  • Molecular weight context: reported MW: 85 kDa; calculated MW: nan
  • Reactivity: Human,Mouse
  • Applications: ELISA, WB

As a polyclonal antibody, the reagent recognizes multiple epitopes on the target, which can improve detection robustness but may increase sensitivity to sample-dependent epitope changes.

Biological background

CD19 molecule. B-lymphocyte antigen CD19, also known as CD19 (Cluster of Differentiation 19), is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CD19 gene. It is found on the surface of B-cells, a type of white blood cell. Lymphocytes proliferate and differentiate in response to various concentrations of different antigens. The ability of the B cell to respond in a specific, yet sensitive manner to the various antigens is achieved with the use of low-affinity antigen receptors. The CD19 gene encodes a cell surface molecule that assembles with the antigen receptor of B lymphocytes in order to decrease the threshold for antigen receptor-dependent stimulation. Functional note: Assembles with the antigen receptor of B-lymphocytes in order to decrease the threshold for antigen receptor-dependent stimulation. Reported localization: Membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein.

Research relevance and current trends

  • Adaptive Immunity: Researchers commonly examine how CD19 relates to this theme using model systems and orthogonal readouts.
  • B Cells: Researchers commonly examine how CD19 relates to this theme using model systems and orthogonal readouts.
  • Hematopoietic Progenitors: Researchers commonly examine how CD19 relates to this theme using model systems and orthogonal readouts.

Common research applications

  • Western blotting: compare relative CD19 levels across conditions; band patterns may reflect isoforms and processing.
  • ELISA-compatible use: when applicable, interpret signal as relative abundance across sample sets with consistent handling and dilution strategy.

Notes for experimental interpretation

  • Specificity notes: No cross reactivity with other proteins.
  • Cross-reactivity: No cross-reactivity with other proteins.
  • Isoforms and PTMs: Apparent size and signal patterns can differ across splice isoforms, proteolytic processing, and post-translational modifications.
  • Controls: Include an isotype control (as relevant), no-primary control for imaging, and orthogonal validation such as KD/KO samples when available.

My team were happy with the WB result of your anti-CD19 antibody. However we have been able to see positive staining in embryonic kidney cell membrane using this antibody. Is that expected? Could you tell me where is CD19 supposed to be expressed?
From literature, embryonic kidney does express CD19. Generally CD19 expresses in cell membrane. Regarding which tissues have CD19 expression, here are a few articles citing expression in various tissues: B-cell, Pubmed ID: 15489334 Blood, Pubmed ID: 1370948 Embryonic kidney, Pubmed ID: 17525332 Spleen, Pubmed ID: 14702039 Tonsil, Pubmed ID: 2472450, 1375324
I see that the anti-CD19 antibody A00154-1 works with ELISA, what is the protocol used to produce the result images on the product page?
You can find protocols for ELISA on the "support/technical resources" section of our navigation menu. If you have any further questions, please send an email to support@bosterbio.com
