Product Overview
Clone 2G11 is a mouse monoclonal antibody that recognizes cyclin-dependent kinase 1 (gene CDK1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 34.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 34 kDa.
CDK1 (CDC2) is the cyclin-dependent kinase that drives cells into mitosis. Bound mainly to cyclin B, it phosphorylates many substrates that trigger nuclear envelope breakdown, chromosome condensation and spindle assembly, and it also helps regulate centrosome duplication, making it a central marker and target in cell cycle and cancer research.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HEK293 cells, human A549 cells, human HepG2 cells, human THP-1 cells, human PANC-1 cells, human SW620 cells, rat RH35 cells, mouse NIH/3T3 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 50 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:10000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human colon cancer tissue, human tonsil tissue, human lung cancer tissue, mouse testis tissue, rat testis tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in citrate buffer (pH 6).
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): PC-3 cells, U2OS cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human CDK1 fragment (Leu66–Met297), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse and rat orthologs: 97.8% and 98.3%, respectively.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places cyclin-dependent kinase 1 in the nucleus, cytoplasm and mitochondrion. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Found in breast cancer tissues. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
