Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects dynamin-2 (gene DNM2) in human, mouse, rat and monkey samples and is validated for Western blot, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 98.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 100 kDa.
Dynamin-2 (DNM2) is a ubiquitously expressed large GTPase that pinches off endocytic vesicles, including clathrin-coated vesicles, from the plasma membrane. It also helps remodel actin structures and supports membrane trafficking from the Golgi. Mutations in DNM2 cause centronuclear myopathy and Charcot-Marie-Tooth neuropathy, making it a focus of muscle and nerve research.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HeLa cells, human Jurkat cells, human K562 cells, monkey COS-7 cells, rat liver tissue, rat heart tissue, mouse liver tissue, mouse heart tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): Caco-2 cells, ANA-1 cells, C6 cells.

Recombinant human DNMT3B fragment (Glu271–Glu853), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse, rat and monkey. UniProt places dynamin-2 in the cytoplasm, cell projection, endosome and recycling endosome. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Widely expressed. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
