Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes estrogen receptor beta (gene ESR2) in human samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 59.2 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 65 kDa.
Estrogen receptor beta (ESR2, ERβ) is a nuclear hormone receptor that binds estrogens with an affinity similar to ERα and activates genes containing estrogen response elements. It has a distinct tissue distribution, including the ovary, prostate and brain, and often opposes ERα-driven proliferation. Several splice isoforms exist with different activities.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL (Human) |
|---|
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): MCF-7 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide from the N-terminal region of human estrogen Receptor beta. It differs from the rat and mouse sequences at four residues.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places estrogen receptor beta in the nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in testis and ovary, and at a lower level in heart, brain, placenta, liver, skeletal muscle, spleen, thymus, prostate, colon, bone marrow, mammary gland and uterus. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
