Product Overview
Clone ACBG-6 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes ferritin light chain (gene FTL) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for flow cytometry, immunoprecipitation, IHC and Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 20.0 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 20 kDa.
Ferritin light chain (FTL) is one of the two subunits of ferritin, the main intracellular iron-storage protein. The light chain lacks ferroxidase activity but helps iron form a stable mineral core inside the ferritin shell. Ferritin levels reflect iron status, and FTL is studied in iron homeostasis, inflammation and ferroptosis.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HepG2 cells, human A549 cells, human THP-1 cells, human SiHa cells, rat liver tissue, HepG2 cells, mouse liver.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:1000 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:500, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human colon tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human ferritin Light Chain.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places ferritin light chain in the cytoplasmic vesicle, cytoplasm and autolysosome. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
