Product Overview
Research Use OnlyHistone H4 is one of the core components of the nucleosome, the basic building block of chromatin. Acetylation of histones is linked to a number of specific processes including transcriptional regulation and genomic organization.

Immunogen / Antigen
Peptide containing the amino terminal region of Tetrahymena histone variant hv1 acetylated at multiple lysines.
Reactivity Notes
The immunogen has a high degree of homology to histone H4, so the antibody primarily recognizes tetra-acetylated histone H4, secondarily recognizes tri-acetylated forms of histone H4. Faint recognition of multiply acetylated histone H2A is observed.
Additional Information
Application Notes: The sequence of the immunogen from Tetrahymena hv1 has a high degree of homology to histone H4 in higher organisms. This modification is conserved from yeast to human and a wide range of reactivity is expected.
Storage & Handling
This product is stable for several weeks at 4° C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20° C or below. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Expiration date is one (1) year from date of receipt.
Safety
For Research Use Only (RUO). Not intended for diagnostic, therapeutic, or veterinary use. Handle according to standard laboratory biosafety guidelines. Avoid skin and eye contact. Dispose of waste in accordance with local regulations.
This antibody has been validated for: Western Blot, ELISA. For each application, follow the recommended dilutions on the product datasheet and optimize empirically for your sample type.
