Overview
This antibody is intended for detection of Il10 (Receptor tyrosine-protein kinase erbB-2) in biological samples using common immunoassay formats. It is typically selected based on target identity, species reactivity, clonality/clone information, and detection modality.
Vendor notes: Boster Bio Anti-IL10 Antibody Picoband® catalog # A00021-2. Tested in ELISA, WB applications. This antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat. The brand Picoband indicates this is a premium antibody that guarantees superior quality, high affinity, and strong signals with minimal background in Western blot applications. Only our best-performing antibodies are designated as Picoband, ensuring unmatched performance.
Key elements and design rationale
- Antibody format: Rabbit Polyclonal Rabbit IgG
- Immunogen / epitope context: E. coli-derived human IL10 recombinant protein (Position: S19-N178). (reported region: S19-N178).
- Molecular weight context: reported MW: 19 kDa; calculated MW: 24993 MW
- Reactivity: Human,Mouse,Rat
- Applications: ELISA, WB
As a polyclonal antibody, the reagent recognizes multiple epitopes on the target, which can improve detection robustness but may increase sensitivity to sample-dependent epitope changes.
Biological background
Receptor tyrosine-protein kinase erbB-2; interleukin 10. Interleukin-10 (IL-10 or IL10), also known as human cytokine synthesis inhibitory factor (CSIF), is an anti-inflammatory cytokine. In humans IL-10 is encoded by the IL10 gene. It is capable of inhibiting synthesis of pro-inflammatory cytokines like IFN-γ, IL-2, IL-3, TNFα and GM-CSF made by cells such as macrophages and regulatory T-cells.IL-10 also displays potent abilities to suppress the antigen presentation capacity of antigen presenting cells. Kim et al. (1992) showed that the mouse Il 10 gene contains 5 exons and spans about 5.2 kb of genomic DNA. Eskdale et al. (1997) mapped the IL10 gene to the junction between 1q31 and 1q32. Functional note: Inhibits the synthesis of a number of cytokines, including IFN-gamma, IL-2, IL-3, TNF and GM-CSF produced by activated macrophages and by helper T-cells. Reported localization: Secreted. Expression/tissue context: Produced by a variety of cell lines, including T-cells, macrophages, mast cells and other cell types.
Research relevance and current trends
- Adaptive Immunity: Researchers commonly examine how Il10 (Receptor tyrosine-protein kinase erbB-2) relates to this theme using model systems and orthogonal readouts.
- Cancer: Researchers commonly examine how Il10 (Receptor tyrosine-protein kinase erbB-2) relates to this theme using model systems and orthogonal readouts.
- Cytokines: Researchers commonly examine how Il10 (Receptor tyrosine-protein kinase erbB-2) relates to this theme using model systems and orthogonal readouts.
Common research applications
- Western blotting: compare relative Il10 (Receptor tyrosine-protein kinase erbB-2) levels across conditions; band patterns may reflect isoforms and processing.
- ELISA-compatible use: when applicable, interpret signal as relative abundance across sample sets with consistent handling and dilution strategy.
Notes for experimental interpretation
- Specificity notes: No cross reactivity with other proteins.
- Cross-reactivity: No cross-reactivity with other proteins.
- Isoforms and PTMs: Apparent size and signal patterns can differ across splice isoforms, proteolytic processing, and post-translational modifications.
- Controls: Include an isotype control (as relevant), no-primary control for imaging, and orthogonal validation such as KD/KO samples when available.
