Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects phosphatidylinositol 3,4,5-trisphosphate 5-phosphatase 2 (gene INPPL1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for ELISA, flow cytometry, ICC/IF, IHC and Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 138.6 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 150 kDa.
SHIP2 (encoded by INPPL1) is an inositol 5-phosphatase that converts PI(3,4,5)P3 to PI(3,4)P2, acting as a negative regulator of insulin and growth factor signaling through the PI3K pathway. It is broadly expressed and is studied in insulin sensitivity, cytoskeleton organization and skeletal development.

Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in citrate buffer (pH 6).
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): U2OS cells.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): A431 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human INPPL1 fragment (Arg1172–Lys1258), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places phosphatidylinositol 3,4,5-trisphosphate 5-phosphatase 2 in the cytoplasm, membrane, cell projection and basal cell membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Widely expressed, most prominently in skeletal muscle, heart and brain. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
