Product Overview
Clone BOE-20 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes transcription intermediary factor 1-beta (gene TRIM28) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 88.6 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 122 kDa.
TRIM28 (KAP1, TIF1β) is a transcriptional corepressor and E3 SUMO/ubiquitin ligase that is recruited to DNA by KRAB zinc finger proteins. It assembles repressive complexes containing SETDB1, HP1 and histone deacetylases to silence endogenous retroviruses and other repeats and to protect genomic imprinting, and it also takes part in the DNA damage response.
