Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets importin subunit alpha-1 (gene KPNA2) in human samples and is validated for Western blot.
Importin α1 (KPNA2) is an adapter that binds classical nuclear localization signals on cargo proteins and links them to importin β1 for transport through the nuclear pore, with RanGTP triggering release inside the nucleus. KPNA2 is highly expressed in proliferating cells and is often elevated in tumors, making it a subject of cancer research.

Immunogen
Synthetic peptide from the N-terminal region of human KPNA2. It differs from the mouse sequence at three residues.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places importin subunit alpha-1 in the cytoplasm, nucleus and Golgi apparatus membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed ubiquitously.
