Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects laminin subunit gamma-2 (gene LAMC2) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and IHC. The predicted molecular weight is 131.0 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 131 kDa.
Laminin gamma-2 (LAMC2) is a chain specific to laminin-332 (laminin-5) in epithelial basement membranes. Laminin-332 anchors epithelial cells through hemidesmosomes and promotes cell scattering and migration. LAMC2 mutations cause junctional epidermolysis bullosa, and the protein is also studied at the invasive front of epithelial tumors.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL (Human, Mouse, Rat) |
|---|---|
| IHC (paraffin sections) | 0.5–1 µg/mL (Human) |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human A431 cells, human Caco-2 whole cellhuman PC-3 cells, human A549 cells, rat lung tissuemouse lung tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 50 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human lung cancertissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide from the C-terminal region of human LAMC2. The peptide sequence is conserved in rat and mouse.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): The large variant is expressed only in specific epithelial cells of embryonic and neonatal tissues. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
