Key elements and design rationale
- Antibody format: Rabbit Polyclonal Rabbit IgG
- Immunogen / epitope context: E. coli-derived rat Ccl19/MIP-3 beta recombinant protein (Position: G26-S108). Rat Ccl19/MIP-3 beta shares 79.5% and 89.2% amino acid (aa) sequence identity with human and mouse Ccl19/MIP-3 beta, respectively. (reported region: G26-S108).
- Molecular weight context: reported MW: 20 kDa; calculated MW: 11763 MW
- Reactivity: Mouse,Rat
- Applications: WB
As a polyclonal antibody, the reagent recognizes multiple epitopes on the target, which can improve detection robustness but may increase sensitivity to sample-dependent epitope changes.
Biological background
Multidrug resistance-associated protein 4; C-C motif chemokine. Chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 19 (CCL19) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CCL19 gene. This gene is one of several CC cytokine genes clustered on the p-arm of chromosome 9. Cytokines are a family of secreted proteins involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes. The CC cytokines are proteins characterized by two adjacent cysteines. The cytokine encoded by this gene may play a role in normal lymphocyte recirculation and homing. It also plays an important role in trafficking of T cells in thymus, and in T cell and B cell migration to secondary lymphoid organs. It specifically binds to chemokine receptor CCR7. Functional note: Produces nitric oxide (NO) which is implicated in vascular smooth muscle relaxation through a cGMP-mediated signal transduction pathway. NO mediates vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)-induced angiogenesis in coronary vessels and promotes blood clotting through the activation of platelets. Isoform eNOS13C: Lacks eNOS activity, dominant-negative form that may down-regulate eNOS activity by forming heterodimers with isoform 1. Reported localization: Secreted . Expression/tissue context: Platelets, placenta, liver and kidney.
