Product Overview
Clone 22M01 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes methyl-CpG-binding domain protein 2 (gene MBD2) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC and ICC/IF. The predicted molecular weight is 43.3 kDa; the supplier reports observed bands at 43, 32 kDa.
MBD2 is a methyl-CpG-binding domain protein that binds methylated DNA and recruits the NuRD chromatin remodeling and histone deacetylase complex. Through this link, it translates DNA methylation into transcriptional repression. It is studied in epigenetic silencing of tumor suppressor genes, blood cell development and cancer.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places methyl-CpG-binding domain protein 2 in the nucleus and chromosome. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Highly expressed in brain, heart, kidney, stomach, testis and placenta. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
