Product Overview
Clone BFA-13 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes hepatocyte growth factor receptor (gene MET) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 155.5 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 155 kDa.
MET is the receptor tyrosine kinase for hepatocyte growth factor (HGF). HGF binding activates MET and downstream pathways such as RAS-MAPK and PI3K-AKT, promoting epithelial cell scattering, migration, proliferation and survival during development and tissue repair. MET amplification, mutation or overexpression occurs in many cancers, making it a major target in cancer research.

Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human stomach tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human met (c-Met).
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places hepatocyte growth factor receptor in the membrane and SUBCELLULAR LOCATION:. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in normal hepatocytes as well as in epithelial cells lining the stomach, the small and the large intestine. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
