Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes dual specificity mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase 6 (gene MAP2K6) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 37.5 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 38 kDa.
MKK6 (MAP2K6) is a dual-specificity kinase that, together with MKK3, phosphorylates and activates the p38 MAP kinases. It is switched on by pro-inflammatory cytokines and environmental stress and is studied in inflammation, stress-induced cell death and differentiation.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): rat kidney tissue, rat skeletal muscle tissue, mouse skeletal muscle tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places dual specificity mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase 6 in the nucleus and cytoplasm. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Isoform 2 is only expressed in skeletal muscle. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
