Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets sodium/calcium exchanger 1 (gene SLC8A1) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 108.5 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 120 kDa.
NCX1 (SLC8A1) is a plasma membrane sodium/calcium exchanger that removes one Ca2+ ion for about three Na+ ions. In heart muscle it clears calcium after each contraction, helping cytoplasmic Ca2+ return to baseline, and it is needed for normal heart development, so it is central to cardiac physiology research.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human K562 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): U2OS cells.

Recombinant human NCX1/SLC8A1 fragment (Glu301–Gln686), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places sodium/calcium exchanger 1 in the cell membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Detected primarily in heart and at lower levels in brain. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
