Vendor description (summary): Boster Bio Anti-NOL10 Antibody Picoband® catalog # A14358-3.
Biological background
Biological context: Can bind to the surface of B-lymphoma cells, but not T- lymphoma cells, consistent with a function as a secreted mediator acting upon B-cells.
Expression and localization notes: cellular localization: Nucleus ., tissue context: Abundantly expressed in tonsil, lymph node, and trachea; strong expression in prostate; lower expression in thyroid, stomach, and colon. ..
Common research applications
- Western blotting (WB): Compare NOL10 levels across samples and conditions using appropriate loading and biological controls.
- Immunohistochemistry (IHC): Evaluate spatial distribution of NOL10 in tissue sections, considering fixation and antigen retrieval effects.
- Immunofluorescence / ICC: Assess subcellular localization patterns and co-localization with compartment markers in cultured cells.
- Flow cytometry: Quantify NOL10-positive populations in single-cell suspensions with appropriate gating and controls.
- ELISA: Use antibody-based detection formats to assess antigen presence or binding in plate-based assays.
Notes for experimental interpretation
- Account for isoforms, post-translational modifications, and sample-specific processing that can shift apparent molecular weight or epitope accessibility.
- Use positive/negative biological controls where possible (e.g., known-expressing cells/tissues, knockdown/knockout models) and include appropriate secondary-only/isotype controls for imaging workflows.
Additional product notes (from provided fields)
- Background: By immunoprecipitation of human AATF we discovered that AATF forms a salt-stable protein complex together with neuroguidin (NGDN) and NOL10, and demonstrate that the AATF-NGDN-NOL10 (ANN) complex functions in ribosome biogenesis. All three ANN complex members localize to nucleoli and display a mutual dependence with respect to protein stability. Mapping of protein-protein interaction domains revealed the importance of both the evolutionary conserved WD40 repeats in NOL10 and the UTP3/SAS10 domain in NGDN for complex formation.
- Cross reactivity: No cross-reactivity with other proteins
- Cellular localization: Nucleus .
- Tissue details: Abundantly expressed in tonsil, lymph node, and trachea; strong expression in prostate; lower expression in thyroid, stomach, and colon. .
- Research category: Chromatin Binding Proteins,DNA/RNA Binding,Epigenetics and Nuclear Signaling
