Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets RNA cytosine C(5)-methyltransferase NSUN2 in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 86.5 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 100 kDa.
NSUN2 is an RNA methyltransferase that converts cytosine to 5-methylcytosine (m5C) in tRNAs, mRNAs and some non-coding RNAs. The modification affects tRNA stability and protein synthesis and helps control stem cell differentiation. NSUN2 loss causes a recessive intellectual disability syndrome, and it is studied in RNA modification and cancer.

Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): 293T cells.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): NRK cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human NSUN2 fragment (His146–Lys654), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt describes RNA cytosine C(5)-methyltransferase NSUN2 as secreted and also located in the nucleus, cytoplasm and mitochondrion. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in adult and fetal brain and in lymphoblastoid cells. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
