Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets GPI-anchor transamidase component PIGS in human and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 61.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 65 kDa.
PIGS is a subunit of the GPI transamidase complex in the endoplasmic reticulum, which attaches a preassembled glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) anchor to newly made proteins. Loss of PIGS function impairs GPI-anchored protein expression and has been linked to inherited GPI biosynthesis disorders.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Human, Rat) |
|---|---|
| Immunocytochemistry / Immunofluorescence | 5 µg/mL (Human) |
| Flow cytometry (fixed cells) | 1–3 µg/1x1×106 cells (Human) |
| ELISA | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human hepatocellular carcinoma tumor tissue(HCCT), human hepatocellular carcinoma paracancerous tissue(HCCP), rat liver tissue, rat RH35 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): HeLa cells.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): RT4 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human PIGS fragment (Arg184–Asp504), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human and rat. UniProt places GPI-anchor transamidase component PIGS in the endoplasmic reticulum membrane. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
