Product Overview
Clone IHD-16 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes protein kinase C delta type (gene PRKCD) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC and ICC/IF. The predicted molecular weight is 77.5 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 78 kDa.
PKCδ (PRKCD) is a novel protein kinase C isoform activated by diacylglycerol independently of calcium. It has context-dependent roles in apoptosis and survival, becoming pro-apoptotic after DNA damage, and it also regulates NADPH oxidase activity and B-cell tolerance, so it is studied in cell death, immunity and cancer.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HeLa cells, human MCF-7 cells, rat brain tissue, rat lung tissue, mouse brain tissue, mouse lung tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:500 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human PKC delta.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places protein kinase C delta type in the cytoplasm, nucleus, cell membrane and mitochondrion. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
