Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets 5'-AMP-activated protein kinase subunit gamma-2 (gene PRKAG2) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 63.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 63 kDa.
AMPK γ2 (PRKAG2) is a regulatory subunit of AMP-activated protein kinase that binds adenine nucleotides and couples cellular energy status to kinase activity. It is highly expressed in the heart, and mutations in PRKAG2 cause an inherited cardiomyopathy with glycogen accumulation, making it relevant to cardiac and metabolic research.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Human, Mouse, Rat) |
|---|---|
| Flow cytometry (fixed cells) | 1–3 µg/1×106 cells (Human) |
| ELISA | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human 293T cells, human HeLa cells, human placenta tissue, human U-87MG cells, human A431 cells, rat heart tissue, mouse NIH/3T3 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): PC-3 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human PRKAG2 fragment (Lys24–His530), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Isoform B is ubiquitously expressed except in liver and thymus. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
