Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets progesterone receptor (gene PGR) in human samples and is validated for Western blot and IHC. The predicted molecular weight is 99.0 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 36 kDa.
The progesterone receptor (PGR) is a ligand-activated nuclear receptor that controls gene expression in response to progesterone. Its two main isoforms, PR-A and PR-B, have partly different activities, and signaling through them regulates the uterus, ovary and mammary gland. PR status is routinely assessed in breast cancer research.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL (Human) |
|---|---|
| IHC (paraffin sections) | 0.5–1 µg/mL (Human) |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): HeLa cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human rectal cancer tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide from the middle region of human progesterone Receptor.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places progesterone receptor in the nucleus and cytoplasm. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): In reproductive tissues the expression of isoform A and isoform B varies as a consequence of developmental and hormonal status. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
