Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes U4/U6 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein Prp31 (gene PRPF31) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 55.5 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 60 kDa.
PRPF31 is a component of the U4/U6 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein that is required to assemble the U4/U6-U5 tri-snRNP, a building block of the spliceosome. Mutations in PRPF31 cause an autosomal dominant form of retinitis pigmentosa, which has made it a focus of both splicing and retinal degeneration research.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HeLa cells, human 293T cells, human A549 cells, human Caco-2 cells, rat brain tissue, rat C6 cells, mouse brain tissue, mouse NIH/3T3 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): A549 cells.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): U937 cells.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places U4/U6 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein Prp31 in the nucleus and nucleus speckle. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Ubiquitously expressed. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
