Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes proteasome subunit alpha type-5 (gene PSMA5) in human, monkey, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA.
PSMA5 (α5) is a structural α subunit of the 20S core proteasome, the barrel-shaped protease that degrades most intracellular proteins. It helps form the gated outer rings and binding sites for regulatory caps, and it is studied in protein homeostasis and proteasome inhibitor research.

Recombinant human PSMA5 fragment (Met1–Ile241), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse and rat orthologs: 100% and 98.8%, respectively.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, monkey, mouse and rat. UniProt places proteasome subunit alpha type-5 in the cytoplasm and nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in fetal brain (at protein level).
