Overview

This antibody is intended for detection of RALBP1 in biological samples using common immunoassay formats. It is typically selected based on target identity, species reactivity, clonality/clone information, and detection modality.

Vendor notes: Boster Bio Anti-RALBP1 Antibody Picoband® catalog # A01403-1. Tested in ELISA, Flow Cytometry, IF, IHC, ICC, WB applications. This antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat. The brand Picoband indicates this is a premium antibody that guarantees superior quality, high affinity, and strong signals with minimal background in Western blot applications. Only our best-performing antibodies are designated as Picoband, ensuring unmatched performance.

Key elements and design rationale

  • Antibody format: Rabbit Polyclonal Rabbit IgG
  • Immunogen / epitope context: E. coli-derived human RALBP1 recombinant protein (Position: K239-Q506). (reported region: K239-Q506).
  • Molecular weight context: reported MW: 95 kDa; calculated MW: nan
  • Reactivity: Human,Mouse,Rat
  • Applications: ELISA, Flow Cytometry, IF, IHC, ICC, WB

As a polyclonal antibody, the reagent recognizes multiple epitopes on the target, which can improve detection robustness but may increase sensitivity to sample-dependent epitope changes.

Biological background

ralA binding protein 1. RalA-binding protein 1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the RALBP1 gene. Small G proteins, such as RAL, have GDP-bound inactive and GTP-bound active forms, which shift from the inactive to the active state through the action of RALGDS, which in turn is activated by RAS. RALBP1 plays a role in receptor-mediated endocytosis and is a downstream effector of the small GTP-binding protein RAL. RALBP1 is also the dominant transporter of lipid peroxidation-derived glutathione conjugates and participates in several mitotic events, including inactivation of endocytosis and separation and polar movement of centrioles and appropriate distribution of mitochondria to daughter cells following mitosis. Functional note: Can activate specifically hydrolysis of GTP bound to RAC1 and CDC42, but not RALA. Mediates ATP-dependent transport of S- (2,4-dinitrophenyl)-glutathione (DNP-SG) and doxorubicin (DOX) and is the major ATP-dependent transporter of glutathione conjugates of electrophiles (GS-E) and DOX in erythrocytes. Can catalyze transport of glutathione conjugates and xenobiotics, and may contribute to the multidrug resistance phenomenon. Serves as a scaffold protein that brings together proteins forming an endocytotic complex during interphase and also with CDK1 to switch off endocytosis, One of its substrates would be EPN1/Epsin. Reported localization: Membrane.

Research relevance and current trends

  • Adapters: Researchers commonly examine how RALBP1 relates to this theme using model systems and orthogonal readouts.
  • Apoptosis: Researchers commonly examine how RALBP1 relates to this theme using model systems and orthogonal readouts.
  • Associated Proteins: Researchers commonly examine how RALBP1 relates to this theme using model systems and orthogonal readouts.

Common research applications

  • Western blotting: compare relative RALBP1 levels across conditions; band patterns may reflect isoforms and processing.
  • IHC/IHC-F: assess spatial distribution of RALBP1 across tissue regions and cell types using matched controls.
  • IF/ICC: evaluate subcellular localization and co-localization patterns; signal can depend on fixation/permeabilization and epitope accessibility.
  • Flow cytometry: quantify target-positive populations and shifts in expression; gating strategy and background staining controls are essential.
  • ELISA-compatible use: when applicable, interpret signal as relative abundance across sample sets with consistent handling and dilution strategy.

Notes for experimental interpretation

  • Specificity notes: No cross reactivity with other proteins.
  • Cross-reactivity: No cross-reactivity with other proteins.
  • Isoforms and PTMs: Apparent size and signal patterns can differ across splice isoforms, proteolytic processing, and post-translational modifications.
  • Controls: Include an isotype control (as relevant), no-primary control for imaging, and orthogonal validation such as KD/KO samples when available.
