Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects ras and Rab interactor 1 (gene RIN1) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 84.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 90 kDa.
RIN1 is a Ras effector that binds active Ras and competes with RAF1 for this interaction. It also activates ABL tyrosine kinases and acts as an exchange factor for RAB5, linking Ras signaling to cytoskeletal remodeling and receptor endocytosis. In the brain, RIN1 is studied for its role in limiting synaptic plasticity and fear memory.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human placenta tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): HepG2 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human RIN1 fragment (Ala76–Asn669), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places ras and Rab interactor 1 in the cytoplasm and membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in all tissues examined with high levels in brain, placenta and pancreas. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
