Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets DNA-binding protein SATB1 in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for ELISA, flow cytometry, IHC, ICC/IF and Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 86.0 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 100 kDa.
SATB1 is a chromatin organizer that binds AT-rich matrix attachment regions and folds DNA into loops, recruiting chromatin-remodeling enzymes, HDACs or HATs to target genes. It is highly expressed in thymocytes, where it shapes T-cell development, and it has also been studied in globin gene switching and cancer progression.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
|---|---|
| IHC (frozen sections) | 0.5–1 µg/mL |
| Immunocytochemistry / Immunofluorescence | 0.5–1 µg/mL |
| Flow cytometry (fixed cells) | 1–3 µg/1×106 cells |
| ELISA | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): rat thymus tissue, mouse thymus tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 50 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:10000, ECL detection.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): PC-3 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human SATB1 fragment (Asp638–Asp763), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places DNA-binding protein SATB1 in the nucleus matrix and nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed predominantly in thymus. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
