Product Overview
Clone BEE-19 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes signal transducer and activator of transcription 1-alpha/beta (gene STAT1) in human and mouse samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, immunoprecipitation and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 87.3 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 91 kDa.
STAT1 is a transcription factor activated by JAK kinases downstream of interferon receptors. After type I interferon signaling it joins STAT2 and IRF9 in the ISGF3 complex, while IFN-γ induces STAT1 homodimers; both drive interferon-stimulated genes. STAT1 is therefore central to antiviral defense, macrophage activation and immune regulation studies.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HeLa cells, human A549 cells, human 293T cells, human K562 cells, mouse heart tissue, mouse brain tissue, human 293T- WT cells, human 293T-STAT1 KO cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:1000 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:1000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human colorectal adenocarcinoma tissue, human lung adenocarcinoma tissue, human liver adenocarcinoma tissue, human appendix tissue, mouse bladder tissue, mouse colon tissue, human bladder cancer tissue, human skin cancer tissue, human breast cancer tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).

The supplier lists reactivity with human and mouse. UniProt places signal transducer and activator of transcription 1-alpha/beta in the cytoplasm and nucleus. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
