Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal hydrolase 16 (gene USP16) in human, monkey and rat samples and is validated for ELISA, flow cytometry, ICC/IF, IHC and Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 93.6 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 100 kDa.
USP16 is a deubiquitinating enzyme that removes the repressive ubiquitin mark from histone H2A at lysine 119, which is placed by Polycomb complexes. This activity helps activate gene expression and is needed for proper chromosome behavior in mitosis. USP16 is studied in chromatin regulation, stem cell function and hematopoiesis.

Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human brain stem cells, human lung cancer tissue, rat intestine tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): HeLa cells.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): A431 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human USP16 fragment (Lys9–Leu823), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, monkey and rat. UniProt places ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal hydrolase 16 in the nucleus and cytoplasm. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Present in all the tissues examined including fetal brain, lung, liver, kidney, and adult heart, brain, placenta, lung, liver, skeletal muscle, kidney and pancreas. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
