Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes wee1-like protein kinase in human and mouse samples and is validated for Western blot, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 71.6 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 72 kDa.
WEE1 is a nuclear kinase that sets the timing of mitotic entry by phosphorylating CDK1 on tyrosine 15, which keeps the cyclin B1–CDK1 complex inactive during S and G2 phases. Removal of this inhibitory mark by CDC25 phosphatases allows cells to enter mitosis, making WEE1 a central G2/M checkpoint regulator studied in cell-cycle control and DNA damage responses.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HeLa cells, human K562 cells, mouse lung tissue, mouse kidney tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 50 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): A549 cells.

Recombinant human WEE1 fragment (Arg13–Arg581), expressed in E. coli.

The supplier lists reactivity with human and mouse. UniProt places wee1-like protein kinase in the nucleus. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
