Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes protein Wnt-7a (gene WNT7A) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 39.0 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 39–40 kDa.
Wnt-7a is a secreted Wnt ligand that signals through Frizzled receptors, including via canonical β-catenin signaling. It controls dorsal-ventral patterning of the developing limb, is needed for Müllerian duct development, and works with Wnt-7b to drive blood vessel formation and blood-brain barrier properties in the central nervous system; it also promotes synapse formation.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human hepatocellular carcinoma paracancerous tissue (HCCP), rat kidney tissue, rat liver tissue, mouse kidney tissue, mouse liver tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C.

Synthetic peptide from the C-terminal region of human WNT7A. The peptide sequence is conserved in mouse.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt describes protein Wnt-7a as a secreted protein. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expression is restricted to placenta, kidney, testis, uterus, fetal lung, and fetal and adult brain. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
