Vendor description (summary): Boster Bio Anti-ZNFN1A2/HELIOS/IKZF2 Antibody Picoband® catalog # A05228-3.
Biological background
Biological context: Associates with Ikaros at centromeric heterochromatin.
Expression and localization notes: cellular localization: Nucleus., tissue context: Ubiquitous. High expression in liver, spleen, pancreas and kidney..
Common research applications
- Western blotting (WB): Compare IKZF2 levels across samples and conditions using appropriate loading and biological controls.
- Immunohistochemistry (IHC): Evaluate spatial distribution of IKZF2 in tissue sections, considering fixation and antigen retrieval effects.
- Flow cytometry: Quantify IKZF2-positive populations in single-cell suspensions with appropriate gating and controls.
- ELISA: Use antibody-based detection formats to assess antigen presence or binding in plate-based assays.
Notes for experimental interpretation
- Account for isoforms, post-translational modifications, and sample-specific processing that can shift apparent molecular weight or epitope accessibility.
- Use positive/negative biological controls where possible (e.g., known-expressing cells/tissues, knockdown/knockout models) and include appropriate secondary-only/isotype controls for imaging workflows.
Additional product notes (from provided fields)
- Specificity: No cross reactivity with other proteins.
- Background: Zinc finger protein Helios is a protein that in humans is encoded by the IKZF2 gene. This gene is mapped to 2q34.This gene encodes a member of the Ikaros family of zinc-finger proteins. Three members of this protein family (Ikaros, Aiolos and Helios) are hematopoietic-specific transcription factors involved in the regulation of lymphocyte development. This protein forms homo- or hetero-dimers with other Ikaros family members, and is thought to function predominantly in early hematopoietic development. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene, but the biological validity of some variants has not been determined.
- Cross reactivity: No cross-reactivity with other proteins.
- Cellular localization: Nucleus.
- Tissue details: Ubiquitous. High expression in liver, spleen, pancreas and kidney.
- Research category: Signal Transduction
