Assay Principle
Sandwich ELISA
This kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate Bovine Telomerase (TE) in samples. The microplate is pre-coated with anti-TE capture antibody. Samples and standards bind the capture antibody; a biotinylated detection antibody is applied, followed by Streptavidin-HRP and TMB substrate. Absorbance at 450 nm is proportional to TE concentration. Detection range and sensitivity: contact supplier.

Scientific Background
Telomerase (TERT — Telomerase Reverse Transcriptase) is a ribonucleoprotein complex that maintains telomere length by adding TTAGGG repeat sequences to chromosome ends. Highly active in germ cells, stem cells, and the vast majority of cancer cells, while typically repressed in normal somatic cells. Elevated telomerase activity is observed in >85% of human malignancies, making it a clinically relevant cancer biomarker and therapeutic target. This assay is validated for bovine (Bos taurus) samples, supporting veterinary oncology and comparative biology research.
Safety & Handling
Research Use Only (RUO). Not for diagnostic or therapeutic applications. TMB substrate and stop solution are corrosive — wear appropriate PPE. Sodium azide may be present — avoid ingestion.

Compatible sample types are not specified by the manufacturer for this Bovine Telomerase ELISA kit. Contact the manufacturer or consult the product manual to confirm validated sample matrices (e.g., serum, plasma, tissue homogenate, cell lysate) before running your samples.
Sensitivity information for this kit is listed as "Request Information" — contact the supplier directly for the current LLOD specification. Sensitivity is confirmed at the batch level and may be updated between lots.
Use the provided recombinant Bovine Telomerase standards to prepare a serial dilution series (typically 8 points, 2-fold dilutions). Run standards and samples in duplicate. Measure absorbance at 450 nm (reference 540 nm or 570 nm). Fit a 4-parameter logistic (4PL) curve for accurate interpolation of sample concentrations.
Yes, this ELISA requires a microplate spectrophotometer (plate reader) capable of reading absorbance at 450 nm. A reference filter at 540 nm or 570 nm is recommended to reduce optical background. Ensure the instrument is calibrated before reading.
Store the complete kit at 2–8°C upon receipt. Stability is defined as ≤5% activity loss within the stated shelf life under recommended storage conditions. Do not freeze unless instructed by the manual. Consult the product manual (Documents tab) for component-specific storage guidance.
