Overview
CEACAM1 Antibody / BGP-1 / CD66a is an antibody targeting CEACAM1. Host: Mouse. Monoclonal. Clone: CEACAM1/12659. Format: Purified. Applications: WB, IHC-P.
Key elements and design rationale
- Target: CEACAM1.
- Immunogen: A portion of amino acids 50-250 from human CEACAM1 protein was used as the immunogen for the CEACAM1 antibody..
- Species reactivity: Human.
- Localization: Secreted, Cell membrane.
- Conjugate: Unconjugated (no label listed).
Biological background (from provided description)
Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) is one of the most commonly used tumor markers in serum immunoassay determinations of carcinoma. Members of the CEACAM (carcinoembryonic antigen-related cell adhesion molecule) family contain a single N domain, with structural homology to the immunoglobulin variable domains, followed by a variable number of immunoglobulin constantlike A and/or B domains.
Common research applications
- WB: relative abundance and band pattern assessment using appropriate controls.
- IHC: tissue distribution assessment; interpret with matched controls.
Notes for experimental interpretation
- Account for isoforms, paralogs, and post-translational modifications when interpreting signal.
- Support specificity with biological controls (e.g., KO/KD where available) and technical controls (e.g., secondary-only/isotype).
Customization & Add-ons: Can’t find the antibody you need—or require a custom format for your assay? We can help you source the best match or support custom antibody solutions for diverse research needs, including species and isotype selection, conjugations and labeling (e.g., HRP/AP, biotin, fluorophores), purification grade options (Protein A/G, affinity purified), formulation preferences (buffer selection, carrier-free, glycerol-free), custom concentrations and aliquoting, low-endotoxin options for cell-based work, and application-focused QC/validation support (project dependent).
