Product Overview
ERK1/2 (R189) polyclonal antibody detects endogenous levels of ERK1/2 protein.
The activation of signal transduction pathways by growth factors, hormones and neurotransmitters is mediated through two closely related MAP kinases, p44 and p42, designated extracellular-signal related kinase 1 (ERK 1) and ERK 2, respectively. ERK proteins are regulated by dual phosphorylation at specific tyrosine and Threonine sites mapping within a characteristic Thr- Glu-Tyr motif. Phosphorylation at both the Thr and Tyr residues is required for full enzymatic activation. In response to activation, MAP kinases phos-phorylate downstream components on Serine and Threonine.

This antibody has been validated for WB, IHC, IF. Always refer to the product datasheet for recommended dilution ranges and appropriate positive control samples for each application type.
Validated reactivity has been confirmed for Human, Mouse, Rat. Cross-reactivity with additional species may exist based on sequence homology but has not been confirmed by the manufacturer. For unlisted species, we recommend running a preliminary validation experiment.
This antibody was raised in Rabbit. For indirect detection (WB, IHC, IF), select an anti-Rabbit secondary antibody that matches the isotype. For direct detection, check the variant selector for conjugated formats. Confirm secondary antibody compatibility before ordering.
Synthetic peptide, corresponding to amino acids 150-200 of Human ERK1.
Please refer to the storage conditions on the product label and datasheet. As a general best practice: upon receipt, aliquot into single-use volumes to minimize freeze-thaw cycling, which can progressively reduce antibody performance and lead to aggregation.
Validated reactivity covers Human, Mouse, Rat samples. Performance can vary across different cell lines and tissue types depending on target antigen expression levels and epitope accessibility. We recommend verifying target expression in your specific model system using a known positive control before proceeding to experimental samples.
