Biological Activity
hAChE-IN-5 (compound 49) is a dual inhibitor of human acetylcholinesterase (hAChE) and human butyrylcholinesterase (hBuChE), exhibiting inhibitory potency with IC50 values of 0.17 uM for both enzymes. Additionally, it demonstrates potent glycogen synthase kinase 3 beta (GSK3beta) inhibition with an IC50 of 0.21 uM. The compound is an effective inhibitor of tau protein and Abeta1-42 peptide self-aggregation. It can virtually bind the peripheral anionic site (PAS), preventing amyloid-beta (Abeta)-induced neurotoxicity. hAChE-IN-5's ability to cross the blood-brain barrier (BBB) underpins its utility in the development of multitargeted anti-Alzheimer s agents (1).
Target(s): GSK-3
Signaling pathway(s): PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling, Stem Cells
Safety & Regulatory
For Research Use Only (RUO). Not for therapeutic, diagnostic, or clinical use. Wear appropriate PPE and consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) prior to handling.
Yes, our inhibitors can be used for animal/in vivo experiments. However, some compounds may not have literature supporting their use in animal experiments. In such cases, we cannot guarantee efficacy.
PEG300 has moderate viscosity, which facilitates the dissolution and administration of drugs, while also providing good tolerability without adverse effects on animals. PEG400 can replace PEG300. PEG600 is not very recommended because its melting point is close to room temperature.
