KChIP3, also known as DREAM or calsenilin, is a neuronal calcium-binding protein that plays a central role in regulating gene expression, potassium channel activity, and neurodegenerative signaling. It modulates Kv4 potassium channels, thereby influencing neuronal excitability and synaptic plasticity, which are key processes disrupted in neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s. In the nucleus, KChIP3 acts as a calcium-dependent transcriptional repressor, regulating genes like prodynorphin that are involved in pain signaling and neuroprotection. Its interaction with presenilin proteins affects amyloid precursor protein processing, linking KChIP3 to Alzheimer’s disease pathology. Our recombinant monoclonal antibody targeting rat KChIP3 has been shown to enable high-specificity detection in rodent brain lysates and in overexpression lysates
1 µg/ml was sufficient for detection of KChIP3 on Rat Brain Membrane lysate.
