Product Overview

Secondary Antibody

This mouse monoclonal antibody (Clone HP-3, IgG1) targets horseradish peroxidase (HRP) and is itself conjugated to HRP for direct enzymatic detection. It enables detection of HRP-tagged proteins without a secondary antibody, simplifying HRP-based immunodetection workflows in WB, ICC/IF, and ELISA formats.

Immunogen & Specificity

Immunogen: Horseradish peroxidase (Grade I) — native HRP enzyme used as immunogen.

Specificity: Reacts with horseradish peroxidase (HRP) and HRP-labeled proteins/conjugates.

This antibody is conjugated to HRP (Horseradish Peroxidase) — direct detection without secondary antibody.

Reactivity

HRP-specific; tag-based. Not species-dependent.

Safety & Handling

Research Use Only (RUO). Not for diagnostic or therapeutic applications. Buffer contains 15 mM sodium azide — toxic; avoid ingestion. HRP substrates (TMB, DAB, ECL) require handling per institutional guidelines.

Does this antibody require a secondary antibody for detection?

No. This antibody is directly HRP-conjugated — it enables direct enzymatic detection without a secondary antibody. After blocking, add the antibody, wash, and then add your HRP substrate (TMB for ELISA, ECL for WB).

What applications is this antibody validated for?

Validated for Western Blot (WB), Immunofluorescence/ICC, and ELISA. Working dilutions must be optimized empirically for each application and sample type.

What substrate should I use with this HRP-conjugated antibody?

For WB: use an ECL (enhanced chemiluminescence) reagent compatible with HRP. For ELISA: use TMB with a sulfuric acid stop solution. For IHC/IF: use DAB (3,3′-diaminobenzidine) for chromogenic detection or tyramide-based fluorescent signal amplification.

How should this antibody be stored?

Store at 2–8°C upon receipt. Stable for up to 1 year. Do not freeze — HRP-conjugated antibodies lose activity upon freeze-thaw cycling. The HRP enzyme is inactivated by freezing.

Can this antibody detect HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies?

Yes. This anti-HRP antibody detects any HRP-conjugated molecule, including HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies and streptavidin-HRP conjugates, making it useful as a positive control or in ELISA-based HRP detection formats.
