Biological Activity
SIRT1 Activator 1 (Compound 3), a marine-derived xyloallenoide A derivative from the Xylaria sp. mangrove fungus, exhibits angiogenic effects in zebrafish and protects human endothelial progenitor cells (hEPCs) from AngII-induced senescence. It achieves this by elevating SIRT1 expression and modulating the AMPK/Akt signaling pathway (1).
Target(s): Sirtuin
Signaling pathway(s): Chromatin/Epigenetic, DNA Damage/DNA Repair
Safety & Regulatory
For Research Use Only (RUO). Not for therapeutic, diagnostic, or clinical use. Wear appropriate PPE and consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) prior to handling.
Centrifuge the closed vial at 3000 rpm for 1–2 minutes to consolidate the powder at the bottom. For electrostatically charged powders, briefly warm the vial to room temperature and allow it to equilibrate before opening. Then add the appropriate solvent directly onto the powder and vortex before sonicating. Avoid tapping the vial vigorously, as this can generate fine powder aerosol.
Use a bath-type ultrasonic cleaner rather than a high-intensity ultrasonic disruptor. Bath sonicators provide gentle, uniform agitation appropriate for dissolving solid compounds without generating cavitation damage or excessive heat. Ensure the solvent tube is fully submerged and use short sonication pulses of 5–10 seconds.
